The Garda Síochána Historical Society
The Garda Síochána Historical Society is a non-profit organisation, set up in response to requests from both members of the Garda Síochána and the public. On 20 January 1995, a meeting was held in the Garda Museum/Archives and the Garda Síochána Historical Society was born.

The Society aims is to bring the rich history and traditions of Irish policing (especially the history of the Garda Síochána) into the public arena. To this end, the Society organises lectures and exhibitions throughout Ireland and also acts as a support service for the development of the Garda Museum/Archives.
Membership
(a) |
Full Membershipis available for those who may be in a position to avail of our annual list of events and attend the Annual General Meeting with entitlement to vote.

Associate Membershipis available for persons not in category (a) - many of whom reside outside Ireland - is offered with an entitlement to receive the twice yearly newsletter and events programme.

All applications for membership must be proposed and seconded by an existing member.
Written applications will be dealt with by the committee. All who are interested in
membership of the Society should contact the Secretary of the Garda Síochána Historical
